The biggest hype right now is about Stephenie Meyer's talented and amazing books about Bella Swan, a seventeen year old girl who moves to the little town of Forks, Washington to live with her father and falls in love with Edward Cullen, the incredibly gorgeous, enigmatic vampire.

The movie just came out starring Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristen Stewart as Bella. This is my own tribute to the books that have swept across the world and made us all want to be a vampire... or at least know one.

Edward Cullen is possibly the most popular literary character known to the world alongside Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice. Edward was born in Chicago in 1901 and was dying of the Spanish Influenza in a hospital in 1918 when Carlisle Cullen found him and changed him into a vampire. Afer being the only vampire in a coven of seven for almost a century, he meets Bella Swan who's scent to him is like a branding iron in the throat. Edward's classic, male dominance is genuine. He always takes blame and responsibility to the point of masochism. While many screaming fan girls will pledge life and love to this undying gentleman, I find his self-blame somewhat tiring and his attempt to keep Bella human naive.

Bella Swan is the girl that everyone can relate to. She is a plain looking girl who finds herself in a relationship with a guy she thinks she doesn't deserve. She is the normal teenager who is more mature than her classmates. She tries hard to keep everyone happy. Bella loves Edward more than life itself and in New Moon, we see just how much she needs him to survive.

I cannot forget Jacob Black in my introduction to this amazing series. Jacob Black, the happy-go-lucky werewolf who wants Bella for himself and can't see a future without her, is one of my favorite male characters because he is so genuine and real. Jacob is the kind of guy that you see walking down the halls at work or smiling at you a school. And the complete hopelessness of his situation is the kind of feeling that so many guys encounter in their own attempts at courtship. Jacob is there for Bella when she needs him most and he helps put her life back together.

These books are amazing! I suggest that everyone at least try reading them before making judgements. Not everyone loves the first person point of view that Meyer uses to create the world of Forks, but her viewpoint is so real that you feel like you are there.

Okay, I know that everyone knows that NM is shooting in Vancouver. But as for the reports saying that many fangirls are going to be traveling in hordes to Canada for a chance to even SEE a Twilight actor! I would just like to point out, that after years of working on a tech cew, THIS DOESN"T HELP THEM!!!!! IT ONLY MAKES THINGS HARDER!
